In 2020, Logitech released the Ergo M575a version of his MX Ergo wireless trackball which is a bit smaller and less fancy and costs half the price, and replaced the M570 wireless trackball. It should be noted that – although this is nothing new – Logitech also has an ergonomic trackball in its range. Logitech claims that, like other products in its Ergo Series line, the Vertical Ergonomic Lift Mouse was “carefully engineered with multiple rounds of user testing involving Logitech’s Ergo Lab and with a seal of approval from leading ergonomic institutions.” When traveling, you store this USB Bolt Receiver in the battery compartment, and it’s worth noting that the battery compartment door sticks magnetically and is easy to open and close. Connection is via Bluetooth or the included Logi Bolt USB receiver (alas, no adapter is included for USB-C devices). And you can wirelessly connect the Lift to up to three devices, whether macOS, Windows, Linux or ChromeOS PCs or iOS and Android devices. As you’d expect, you can program the elevator buttons using Logi Options software for Mac or Windows. Like Logitech’s latest MX Master and MX Anywhere mice, it features a magnetic SmartWheel that works both smoothly and precisely.
With the Lift, the button on the MX Vertical that is used to change pointer speed and DPI switching has been moved from the top of the mouse (on the ridge) to just above the scroll wheel, a much better location for it. On the MX Vertical, some people found the secondary buttons a little hard to reach (and not so ergonomically placed). The left-handed version is only available in graphite (pictured left).īutton placement has also improved.
